Design

I’ve been doing graphic design casually since childhood. No one went without a clip art-heavy custom card filled with terrible puns for any event. Emily’s Breakfast Place, the restaurant where I forced my parents to pay for their own food in their own kitchen, had a full menu and business cards carefully crafted on my dad’s 90’s desktop computer. Almost three decades later, I took this moxy and creativity with me to work at Manchester Community Library, where I currently serve in the role of Communications Coordinator. While the job also includes website administration, sending a lot of emails, maintaining the overall voice of the Library, and writing press releases, the part I take the most joy in is creating the designs used both digitally and in print. I’ve also been honored to use my skills to provide birthday and wedding materials for friends and family.

Weird (Bad) Art

I may be proficient at graphic design, but my hand-done art is messy and weird. I like to use my hand drawn nightmare fuel to connect with other weirdos. While I sometimes wish I had more technical skills, I mostly like serving my art up raw. Given today’s state of affairs, I’ve decided to start using my weird art to promote causes with crazy ideas like intellectual freedom, the freedom to read, and the freedom to exist peacefully. My motto is simple: Art by Humans, for Humanity. Some of this is done through guerilla art tactics like leaving hand drawn zines in public spaces, but I’m also in the process of creating merchandise to raise money for causes I believe in.
